Dedicated to Saint-Jean-Baptiste, the church of Malène is a building of pure Romanesque style, built certainly in the twelfth century by the religious of Sainte-Enimie. It has been very little modified and therefore retains a typical plan of this Romanesque architecture. The entrance facade has been remodeled and perforated by the addition of bays on either side of the powerful buttress in which opens the portal: arched portal surmounted by a semicircular arch and horseshoe. The set consists of a nave flanked by collaterals, ending in a semicircular apse flanked by two apsidioles. The apse and the apsidioles communicate by a narrow passage. The nave of three bays is vaulted in semicircular cradle. Its low vault is supported by four imposing pillars. A beautiful stained glass window overcomes the main altar. Around 1859 was added an "expiatory chapel", north collateral. It contains the remains of 21 Malènais executed during the Revolution.
