The Gardons Cévenols mainly include three streams that originate between 700 and 900 m altitude, in the heart of an arc that goes from La Can-de-l'Hospital to the west, the slopes of the mountain of Bougès, to the East. The brown trout are numerous on the Gardons Cévenols with the exception of the most upstream sectors with very steep slope in which the fish productivity is very low, and lower parts more favorable to the cyprinids of white water. The Gardons Cévenols, classified in first category in Lozère, offer perfectly clear waters and quality. The Gardon of Sainte Croix is labeled "River in good condition".
