The Causses and Cévennes

The Causses and Cévennes site is 6000km² spread over 4 French departments (Aveyron, Gard, Hérault and Lozère) and was listed as a Mediterranean Agro-Pastoral Cultural Landscape in the World Heritage of Humanity in June 2011. Its international recognition showcases the cultural identity and expertise which have sculpted this unique and everchanging landscape. The listing doesn't protect the land with a regulation but instead promotes activities and the understandind of people and professionnals living in the Causses and Cévennes.

The Causses and Cévennes Ambassadors network was founded in 2014. 28 Lozère businesses are now part of the network totalling over 120 in the four departments.
