Mende: Nestled around a beautiful cathedral, the town has houses gleaming with age, cobbled streets and shale roofs. The town is the perfect starting point for visiting Lozère’s hidden gems. Lac de Charpal: The Truc de Fortunio (1551m high) towers over the lake which also serves as Mende’s water reserve. Bagnols les Bains: There has been spa activity here since Roman times. Visit the spa and keep fit in the great outdoors. Lanuéjols: Incredibly well preserved Roman mausoleum in memory of its Bassianus’ (the former owner) children.
