The Château du Miral is located on the road to Le Pont-de-Monvert, 10km away from Florac.

The building, which overlooks the confluence between the rivers Runes and Tarn, is visible from the D998 road. The Château de Miral was built during the 13th century but gains in size after the 16th and 17th century when the family Malbosc de Miral enlarges it progressively.

During the visit, the different stages of construction will be explained to you. The Gothic building that you will be able to observe, was added to the dungeon and ramparts towards the 15th century. The chapel adorned with frescos from the 14th century is also open to visits.

During the French Revolution, because of uncertain owner successions, the castle gradually fell into ruins until a private action during the early 1980s. This action allowed restoring this ancient Catholic fiefdom and protecting the property by registering it on the Historical Monuments list in 1984.
