Deep in the village of Saint-Chély-du-Tarn, under a rock wall that dominates it, the chapel Notre-Dame de Cénaret dates from the 12th century.
Built near a source that forms the entrance of an underground lake, it is composed of a unique nave and severalt blind arcades, ending in a flat radiating chapel in a rectangular shape. The triomphal arc is stunted, which is a caracteristic of pre-Romanesque constructions.
The choir is lighted up by a bay window on the north wall.
The entrance door, with a pointed arch and mouldings, is from the 15th century.
