This small Causse village appears in the possessions of Sainte-Enimie's monastery as early as the 12th century. It presents all the characteristics of the Causse architecture. A small stroll in the village allows you to discover this limestone architecture. The houses were generally built without a wooden frame with a system of stone vaults. The roofs in flagsone are extremely heavy.

Flagstone is extracted in slabs thick of 5cm in quarries of the Causse de Sauveterre. Carved and calibrated one by one on their length, they are simply installed flat on a stone bed that covers the vault. The slabs hold themselves with their weight, the largest at the the base of the roof and then decreasing in size until the roof ridge. The flagstones have to be covered by each other on 2/3 of their surface.
From the village, starting point of the hike 'Ferme de Pessades', and route around megaliths of the Causse de Sauveterre.
