POTERIE L’ESTIRGAGNE - FLORAC TROIS RIVIERES

For a few decades, in their pottery shop on the Esplanade, in Florac, Geneviève and Daniel Castel have been showing their stoneware and porcelain creations, both useful and decorative, as well as a few unique pieces in their shop “L’Estirgagne”.
Their way of making ceramics is part of a tradition of Asian glazing on stoneware: cooking of the creations at a 1300°C temperature in gas-powered and wood-powered ovens (Daniel and Pascal Leroy are the creators of the first ever wood chirps-powered ceramics oven).
In 1989, they set up their workshop 5km away from Florac, in the hamlet of “La Valette”. Since 2013 they offer, right next to their shop, a gallery with stoneware hanging jars and garden planters.
