LE TAC : TRAIN DE L'ANDORGE EN CÉVENNES
48160 SAINT-JULIEN-DES-POINTS
The TAC (train from the Andorge, in Cévennes) follows a part of the old local railway that connected Florac to Sainte-Cécile d’Andorge through the narrow Cévennes valleys.
You will enjoy the bucolic mood of olden day travel, passing through viaducts and tunnels, on-board of a small touristic train that was refurbished by passionate volunteers.
The round trip (2x1450) allows you to discover, in addition to the landscape, several artworks such as the Andorge viaduct (a 25-meter high bridge with 4 elliptical arches) and the Bramefont tunnel (82-meter long). These show the work that was done 100 years ago when the railway was built.
The tracks are 400mm apart, and the train can carry 60 passengers. Departure and arrival are both in Sainte-Cécile d’Andorge train station.
