CENTRE HISTORIQUE DE FLORAC
48400 FLORAC TROIS RIVIERES
Florac is at the crossroads of three remarkable geological sites: Cevennes shale, Mont Lozère granite and Causses limestone. From the twelfth century, Florac is a small town. Its houses are clustered around the church and around the castle. Around 1130, Benedictine monks from the Abbey of la Chaise-Dieu built a convent. The city was once surrounded by a moat. Located in a place of passage, Florac becomes a small commercial city. Today it is nice to stroll through the streets, discover the many covered passages and small squares. In summer, the city reveals its small southern side. The esplanade in the shade of its plane trees and the plots invite you to rest for a drink, or have a meal. The market is a highlight for locals and visitors who like to meet around the stalls of local produce. Here we love the party! Do not miss the numerous meetings: concerts, Soup Festival ...
