LES DETROITS - MASSEGROS CAUSSES GORGES

This is the most characteristic section of the Tarn Gorges.
Here, the valley narrows into a mere corridor between gigantic limestone cliffs that plunge steeply into the river — the most constricted part of the canyon.

From La Malène, you can take a boat trip through the narrow passages down to the Cirque des Baumes, accompanied by the boatmen of La Malène.
You can also enjoy the descent by canoe, discovering along the way some of the natural wonders that make this stretch of the Tarn truly unforgettable.
