Vallée du Lot - MENDE

The Lot River source is on the north side of Mont Lozère. It snakes through our region and flows into the Garonne.
The architectural style is rather unusual. The roofs look like the keels on upturned boats.
They are known as Philibert Delorme roofs and named after the architect who worked for King Henri II and Catherine de Médicis. These roofs were mainly used on barns as you could get a large volume at a low cost.
