The cliffs of the Gorges du Tarn, present in the Cévennes National Park listed in UNESCO, form a corridor of nearly 50 kilometers from Ispagnac to Rozier. Dugged by the Tarn for millennia in the limestone, these vertiginous cliffs, up to 500 meters high, separate the Causse Méjean and Causse Sauveterre. The cliffs encountered over the Tarn are tinged with long streaks ocher, reddish or black. They are steep and almost smooth. Today, the Gorges du Tarn are the object of a Grand Site operation to enhance the exceptional character of these landscapes but also to organize tourism to not deteriorate this fabulous scenery.
